Fall Family Fun Day
Sponsored by: RI Jobs with Justice & The RhodyCare Campaign
On Saturday October 28th, RI Jobs with Justice hosted their first ever Fall Family Fun Day at Confreda Greenhouses and Farms in Hope, Rhode Island. The fun began at 10am, when all families were welcomed into a private greenhouse with hot coffee, apple cider, donuts and many more fall treats. There was a children’s activity table set up with face painting and art supplies to decorate your own Halloween goody bags. Upon entry, every child was given a sticker which gave them free access to the kiddie rides, animal farm and a hayride through the farm to a pumpkin patch where they could each pick their own sugar pie pumpkin and take it home with them.
In the midst of all of our crazy lives, it is so important that when life allows it, we step away from all of the bills, burdens and work, in order to find time for the enjoyable things. We created this free community event for people to do just that, for families to come out and enjoy a beautiful fall day on the farm without the added stress life continues to throw at us. Although it may have been just one day out of the year, Fall Family Fun day aimed to temporarily alleviate the many burdens which fall on Rhode Island families everyday. Our RhodyCare Campaign is passed on a very similar underlying principle; lessen the burden of care on RI families. RhodyCare is RI Jobs with Justice’s vision of expanding access to care for Rhode Island families from cradle to grave. We want to allow all families the ability to afford quality care for both our youngest Rhode Islanders and our oldest and RhodyCare can make that possible in Rhode Island.
